I absolutely love spice in my food. Just about everything I cook has a lot of spice and flavor in it. I was very excited to get a chance to review Kiva Gourmet Hot and Sweet Smoked Spanish Paprika. I never really knew much about the difference between the hot and sweet smoked paprika so I set out to find out what they tasted like and how I liked them.

Both paprika powders have a nice smoky flavor that I really, really like. Both powders have a nice deep, rich flavor; however the sweet paprika has a sweet undertone, whereas the hot smoked paprika has a slight spicy flavor. Both are similar in taste, yet when on food, you can taste the slight difference in the spice flavor between the two.

Kiva says that these spices are imported from the La Vera Region of Spain and are smoked dried over holm oak for a minimum of 14 days, following a century old local recipe.

Typically, I’ll use paprika to add flavor and a little spice to meats, seafood, veggies, and chicken dishes. I also like to use it in fajita recipes as well. Overall, I found these paprikas really enhanced the dishes I was making in accordance to whether I need a sweet flavor or a hot flavor.

I made Sweet Paprika Skillet Chicken with the Sweet Smoked Paprika and I made a Cajun Chicken Spaghetti (the recipe just called for paprika, but I used the Hot Paprika in this recipe and it was delicious!).

This salt and pepper grinder set is an attractive addition to any kitchen. Being black and white, they will match any décor. They look very elegant on my kitchen table and on my range. I really love to grind my salt and pepper fresh, so this set is definitely a great addition to my kitchen.

These grinders are easy to use and you don’t have to strain to do the grinding- they grind so easily. They also don’t have that sound that some grinders have. They are a great size and fit nicely in your hand when grinding.

Additionally, I love that these grinders have glass globes. I really prefer that to plastic. I always prefer glass to plastic.

I really think that the bobu cuisine salt and pepper grinder set would make a great gift for the kitchen guru or for anyone who loves freshly ground salt and pepper!

I’ve been using Pure Luxe Essential Lemon Oil for a couple of weeks now and so far I’ve been very pleased with it. I love that it’s completely nature with no added chemicals or water. This is a very large 4oz bottle filled with pure Lemon oil.

Once I opened the bottle I could smell the strong lemon scent, and I was quite happy. I love the scent of lemons and it always makes me happy. I really like that they have the oil in a dark bottle to help it to last longer. The lid on the bottle was easy to open and close and it comes with a dropper lid to use with the product to dispense the oil.

Lemon oil can be used for a variety of uses: household cleaning, dull skin, acne prone skin, digestive problems, and much more. I like to use it on my skin, I like to add it to water in a spray bottle to spray and sanitize surfaces (just a few drops to the water), and another use I found for it was to put a few drops on a cotton ball and tuck it in my refrigerator to help eliminate odors. It works wonderful for all of these as well as so many more uses.

You can actually just google uses for lemon oil and find a ton of uses for it. Some people add it to perfumes, use it in candle and soap making, some people use it in recipes, etc. The uses for lemon oil are endless!

So when I first received this garlic press, I was impressed with how well made it was and how well it fit in my hand. It’s also very beautiful, if you want to call a kitchen gadget beautiful! It’s beautifully shiny and you can tell that it’s made from stainless steel. I love stainless steel- I hate, hate, and hate cheaply made kitchen tools.

I absolutely love garlic, and fresh garlic is divine. I love adding fresh garlic to some chicken and cooking it all up in a pan. (I’m not really a cook, so much as I make my food edible). In any event, I was happy to use this tool vs. chopping up garlic by hand. I love the taste of garlic but hate the smell of it on my hands! It’s a hard smell to get rid of.

I loved that the basket for the garlic just flips out and you can place the clove in there, peel and all, and just press it right through. It’s about as easy as pressing play-doh through a similar toy gadget. I also love that to clean it, you can just flip out the basket and run it under water to clean it out. I did use hot water and soap, but you really wouldn’t need to.

In any event, I can say that this product is really wonderful to own! It makes using garlic easy, clean, and less stinky! It is very well made, easy to press garlic through, and is a wonderful looking addition to any kitchen.
