This is one book that will keep you at the edge of your seat! Based in a post-apocalyptic world, 700 years in the future, this book follows Nick Burke- a journalist that is just trying to get his family out of the current ground in which they are living. This world is massive and full of grounds, or cities, that are being built upwards. The higher one goes, the better the living is for them. Of course, the lower you go, the worse it is for you. The government has given Nick and his family 389 square feet of living space. People are packed tight together and so disease is spreading wildly. There is quarantine on Nick’s ground and his family is trapped.
Nick, his wife, and their son are attempting to move to another ground, but the only way to do this is to break laws that carry a penalty no short of death. Nick joins together with another group and move to another ground. Can Nick trust these new friends? You’ll have to read the book to find out!
This book is so well written and so detailed that you almost become a part of the story.
The ending to this book is unexpected and leaves you desperately wanting more. It is one book that is very hard to put down and probably could be easily read in one sitting!
